Debleena S: Once again you are demonstrating that you do not understand how System File Protection works or how sfc /scannow works and now.. you don't understand how the Windows Side By Side implementation works either (that is the WinSxS folders). Windows File Protection does not care about, does not look after and does not monitor the WinSxS folders. sfc /scannow has know knowledge of the WinSxS folders whatsoever. You know what will happen next, right? HeidiDavis will try to run sfc /scannow and it will most likley ask for an installation CD she does not have. Then what? It will not help even if HeidiDavis had a genuine bootable XP installation CD that matches the installed Service Pack. Why do you keep suggesting it? Instead of suggesting things that don't work or a System Restore, why don't you suggest how to figure out and solve the problem? System Restore is not the answer to everything. Somehow, I knew this was going to be the case if a MSE got hold of this topic first. Into the MSE Blunders email folder! Too bad.
